On June 11, Li Jincan, a 2016 undergraduate in the Department of chemistry of the University of science, published his research paper Ni catalyzed denitrifying cross coupling of benzotriazinones and cyclopropanols: an easy access to functional β - aryl tones online in organic letters (if = 6.55, SCI area I), It will soon become a well-known international journal in the field of organic chemistry. The journal has high requirements on the novelty and importance of the research results, the scientificity and practicability of the methods, the accuracy and integrity of the data, etc.
In this paper, the author first found a cheap nickel catalyzed denitrification coupling reaction of benzotriazinone with substituted Cyclopropanol, and developed a series of simple and efficient synthesis methods of functionalized β - arylketone. This method has potential application value in the synthesis of related drugs and intermediates, such as HIV protease inhibitors, gastrointestinal drugs, potassium competitive acid blockers and so on. In this paper, 25 novel ortho amide substituted β - arylketones were synthesized with a yield of 93%. Nitrogen is the only by-product of the reaction, so it has high atomic economy. In addition, the mechanism of the reaction was studied by free radical trapping and deuterium labeling.
Li Jincan, the first author of this paper, is a 2016 undergraduate majoring in Applied Chemistry in our university. In January 2019, he began his research work under the guidance of Associate Professor Li Wanfang, and successfully completed the 2020 undergraduate thesis based on this project. In addition, Zheng Yan, a 2019 graduate student of our university, also participated in part of the work of this paper. The research work was supported by the National Natural Science Youth Fund Project (21901163), and also supported by the clinical medicine and organic catalysis application research team of nanomaterials led by Professor Huang Mingxian.
